Communicable Disease

Our health department staff investigates all reports of communicable diseases to determine if there is a risk of spread and takes measures to control the risk. It is required for physicians and laboratories to report diseases.

Our communicable disease services include:

  •  Testing for and evaluation of disease

  •  Treatment of identified infection and provision of protective measures for family or other close contacts.

  •  Public outreach and education
